Dear Sir/Madam

In February 2010, following an invitation by Reverend Jim Brown and the Parochial Church Council to establish the Friends of Wateringbury Church, I started building a Committee of local residents who have volunteered to bring this project into being.

Our aim, enshrined within our Constitution, is shown for you below:

To raise funds to assist with the maintenance of, improvements to, and preservation of the Church building and churchyard of the Church of St John the Baptist, Wateringbury; and by doing so, support and enable the Church (of England) with the advancement and development of its work within the community of the Parish of Wateringbury.

I hope you will feel able to support us.

How you can support us

A contribution of £20 for year beginning 1st April 2011 – 31st March 2012.

Potential benefits to businesses and Friends

  • By supporting the Friends we will display your business details on this website –www.fowc.org.uk including contact information, links to websites and logos. (Terms and conditions can be found on our website)

  • We ask that you consider offering a discount of your choice to Friends.  Should you do so it will be on a private basis with the Friends Member.  Please be aware that Friends may well ask you for a discount when engaging you.  Friends will be able to provide proof of membership with a numbered Membership Card.

On 26th March 2011 we conducted a ‘flyer’ drop to every household in Wateringbury (approximately 750 homes) inviting residents to join as a Household Friend of Wateringbury Church, for a minimum annual fee of £10.  This flyer advertised our website. It is this website on which we will put your business details should you choose to support the Friends.

Periodically in life we are afforded an opportunity to make a difference.  I believe that this is one such occasion.  I ask that you please, make contact with us today and show your support with a contribution of £20 and we will list your business details on our website for the Financial Year 2011-12.

Should you wish to support the Friends of Wateringbury Church, then I ask you to fill in the Business Support form and send it to our Secretary at the address on the form.
